About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our North Community Mental Health team in Dunedin. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 40 hours per week, extending until April 2026, to cover a maternity leave. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in delivering treatment to individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental illness.
In this innovative service, you will work alongside a dedicated team of 33 professionals, providing outpatient and home-based outreach services. You will receive comprehensive orientation and ongoing support, including professional development opportunities and clinical supervision.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to make a difference in a busy and diverse environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential. You will manage your time effectively to assess, plan, and deliver high-quality clinical psychology interventions. Your role will include both individual and group therapy, as well as extensive collaboration with other Clinical Psychologists within our organization to ensure the well-being of your clients.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of clinical psychology assessment and interventions, particularly in relation to intellectual disabilities and mental health. Your communication abilities should be exemplary, allowing you to engage effectively with clients, their families, and fellow health professionals while clearly presenting clinical information.
Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologist's Board, hold a current practicing certificate, and possess a valid New Zealand driver's license.
Salary Range
This role is classified under the APEX Allied Scientific and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement, with a salary range between Step 1 at $85,000 and Step 8 at $120,000 (pro-rata) on the Degree-Based scale.
