About the Role We are currently seeking a versatile individual with broad maintenance skills to join our Auckland team as a Playground Operator. In this role, you will report to the Team Manager and be responsible for the maintenance of various amenities within the Auckland District Council's jurisdiction. Your responsibilities will include the upkeep of playgrounds, sports courts, fitness equipment, BBQs, bus shelters, waterways, and park furniture. Your daily tasks will encompass basic handyman functions, conducting playground inspections, performing minor repairs, aerating playgrounds, cleaning, refurbishments, and validating park assets. Occasionally, you may be required to assist other teams within the Auckland District. Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess a wide range of handyman skills and ideally have prior maintenance experience. Completion of a Playground Inspection and Maintenance Course Level 2 is preferred. To be successful in this role, you must have a current full driver’s license and the ability to operate a manual vehicle. A strong attention to detail, a positive attitude towards safety, and a solid work ethic are essential. Strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and the ability to maintain positive working relationships are crucial. Flexibility in working hours to meet client needs is also required.
