About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Service Assistant to join our team at Hamilton CPK. In this hands-on position, you will assist in preparing and delivering daily lunch orders while ensuring that food safety and quality standards are upheld. This role is ideal for early risers, as the shift begins at 4:00 AM. Your friendly service will contribute to a positive dining experience for both students and staff.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion food according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Receive and sort deliveries, as well as manage leftover food and packaging after service.
- Provide warm and professional customer service, responding promptly to requests.
- Rotate between kitchen stations and assist with cleaning duties as needed.
- Adhere to all Compass Group food safety, hygiene, and manual handling procedures.
About You
We are looking for a team player who can also work independently and possesses a flexible, can-do attitude. You should be physically fit, reliable, and dedicated to maintaining high hygiene standards. Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive work approach are essential. Experience in a kitchen environment and familiarity with cleaning equipment will be advantageous. Candidates should hold or be willing to obtain an NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168).
