Our Maintenance team plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests can relax in a beautiful setting, making their stay memorable. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Painter to join our Maintenance team. This position is essential for maintaining the interiors and exteriors of our 250 guest rooms within the Hermitage complex, our 150 staff accommodation rooms, and the surrounding support buildings and grounds. This role is dynamic and fast-paced, offering a blend of proactive and reactive work in a fun and enthusiastic team environment. What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will be responsible for internal and external painting, ensuring a high-quality finish across our hotel, lodge, motels, and staff accommodations. You will apply your knowledge of various paints, solvents, adhesives, and different types of wall coverings to deliver excellent results. You will operate and maintain tools and machinery according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Planning and prioritizing jobs will be essential to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and hygiene. Additionally, you will carry out general maintenance duties as directed. The position requires working from 7 AM to 5 PM, including weekends, and participating in rotating on-call shifts to address emergencies outside regular hours. What You Will Bring to the Role We are looking for candidates with a minimum of six months of experience as a professional painter in commercial or residential properties. Prior experience in property maintenance is preferred. A full clean NZ Driver's license or an international equivalent is required, along with a confident and safe driving record. We value a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. Strong communication skills and a friendly, outgoing demeanor are essential, as is the ability to be flexible and adaptable while prioritizing tasks effectively. The Role and Benefits We offer a full-time, fixed-term or permanent position, with a minimum of 80 hours per fortnight from 7 AM to 5 PM. The pay range for this position is between $29.00 and $35.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
