About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Department for Inwards Goods, a pivotal position within our store. This role demands an experienced, organized, and quick-thinking individual to lead our Inwards Goods Department. We are looking for someone who is hands-on and ready to collaborate closely with their team. The ideal candidate will have proven supervisory experience in a large warehouse environment and the ability to make prompt, informed decisions.
In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring the accurate processing and timely receipt of inbound inventory. You will maintain high standards of health and safety on-site and facilitate training and development initiatives to meet and exceed our operational standards. You will work alongside a skilled team and support the Operations Manager in implementing new ideas, modifying existing practices, and advocating for your own process improvement initiatives.
About You
We are looking for a highly self-motivated and customer-focused individual with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding operational goals and KPIs. Ideally, you will have 3 to 4 years of experience in people management, with the ability to engage your team in continuous improvement efforts through a hands-on approach.
Your ability to build collaborative partnerships, both internally and externally, will be a key strength that you can leverage from day one. You should possess sound knowledge of health and safety practices in a warehouse setting and ideally hold a current forklift license.
You will need to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency in existing processes and work methodologies. A strong understanding of inwards and outward goods operations in a similar large environment is essential. Experience in logistics, particularly in planning and implementing efficient systems for the movement of goods, will be a significant asset.
This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to the Operations Manager and is scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday.
