Our City Operations Team plays a vital role in maintaining the walkways and tracks that connect our residents and visitors to the stunning landscapes of Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, and Papamoa.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our City Operations Team, which is responsible for the upkeep of over 120 kilometers of walkways and tracks, including popular locations such as Mauao and McLaren Falls Park. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that requires energy, initiative, and a strong work ethic. As part of our team, you will take pride in ensuring that our natural spaces remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be tasked with various responsibilities, including:
- Operating weed eaters and other landscaping equipment
- Cutting back vegetation along tracks and walkways
- Removing rubbish and performing general tidying
- Blowing and raking away debris
Requirements
To succeed in this position, the following qualifications are essential:
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically fit and prepared to work in various outdoor conditions
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and demonstrate initiative
- A full New Zealand driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to use mobile phones and work-based applications, which is a core requirement of the role
Work Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week
