About the Role
We are thrilled to announce a new opportunity for a Project Manager based in New Plymouth, resulting from a long-term contract we have secured with PowerCo. This role serves as an excellent stepping stone into a future-focused company and industry, with significant growth expected in the coming years.
As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of distribution electricity projects, overseeing all phases from initiation to completion. Your responsibilities will include project planning, budgeting, and effective communication with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of projects related to electricity distribution, including overhead lines, underground cables, subdivision work, and substation upgrades.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Lead project planning, execution, commissioning, and closure phases.
- Prepare and manage work packs, detailing site specifics, job scope breakdowns, and outage planning.
- Liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, consultants, and local authorities to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Oversee the financial performance of active projects, including invoicing and job reconciliation.
Requirements
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized individual with strong communication skills. To thrive in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant project management or technical experience.
- Knowledge of low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) distribution systems and zone substations (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
