About the Role Our Occupational Therapy Team at the Burwood campus is seeking an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist to step into the role of Clinical Team Leader. As part of a large team comprising over 60 Occupational Therapy professionals, you will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. In this pivotal position, you will collaborate with other Clinical Team Leaders and the Clinical Manager to enhance clinical services within the Older Person's health and Rehabilitation setting. Your responsibilities will include contributing to daily operational planning, supporting service improvement initiatives, and maintaining a clinical caseload within our Older Person's Health team, which consists of approximately 12 staff members, including registered Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants. This is a permanent, full-time position, with working hours from Monday to Friday, approximately 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. In this role, you will be responsible for: - Ensuring the day-to-day delivery of high-quality clinical services primarily within our older people's rehabilitation area, addressing various diagnoses and conditions that require rehabilitation to ensure safe discharge. - Collaborating with the leadership team and multidisciplinary colleagues to identify and implement service improvement initiatives. - Managing a designated clinical caseload within Older Person's inpatient services. - Supporting and nurturing the development of approximately 8-10 direct report Occupational Therapy team members. - Engaging in ongoing education and experience in team leadership. About You We are looking for candidates with the following skills: - A solid clinical background in a rehabilitation hospital setting, with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience preferred. - An understanding of the core business needs of Occupational Therapy service provision. - Previous experience in team leadership and/or project management is desirable. - A strong working knowledge of local, national, and international health systems is highly valued. - Proven experience in training and supervising staff, with the ability to foster individual and collective team development. - Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to beginning this journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth. - Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) is essential, or eligibility to obtain it.
