About the Role
We are seeking a Security Coordinator to join our team. In this permanent full-time position, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating all aspects of hospital security. Your primary goal will be to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors through effective leadership, risk management, and incident response.
You will report directly to the Team Leader for Security and Parking, and your responsibilities will include overseeing security operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and coordinating emergency response procedures in a timely manner.
About the Team
You will be part of the Attendants, Fleet, Security, and Parking department, which employs approximately 120 staff members working around the clock, seven days a week. The Security and Parking operations also operate continuously, utilizing a group of about 60 contract staff to maintain a safe and secure environment within the hospital.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will need to bring the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience in security coordination or management, preferably within healthcare, public service, or large organizational settings.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop security personnel effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to facilitate interactions with staff, patients, visitors, and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of security systems, health and safety standards, and relevant legislation, including emergency response procedures.
- An ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, informed decisions during emergency situations.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in security management or related fields are highly desirable.
