    About the Company At Greater Wellington Regional Council, we are dedicated to managing our region's natural resources and enhancing our environment. About the Role We are currently seeking two Interns/Student Engineers to join our Knowledge Water team for fixed-term, full-time positions from November to February at our central Wellington office. This role offers the chance to engage in diverse projects throughout the greater Wellington region, providing valuable experience tailored to your interests. As a Student Engineer, you will contribute to various departmental activities, including floodplain management planning, resource consent applications, engineering design, operational river management, and habitat enhancement. This position is ideal for students in their second, third, or final years who are eager to gain professional experience to fulfill their degree requirements. Previous interns have participated in technical analyses, asset management, river engineering, fieldwork, data collection, and community engagement. Requirements To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria: - Currently studying towards a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil or Natural Resources, or possess an equivalent qualification. - Demonstrate a genuine interest in the environment, engineering, and the protection of people, particularly in relation to rivers and streams. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also being self-directed when managing individual tasks. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. - Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software and ArcGIS is advantageous but not essential.
