About the Company
We are collaborating with a well-established civil construction contractor to find an experienced Project Manager for their expanding Civil Structures team. This position is based in Gisborne and involves overseeing significant infrastructure projects across the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast regions.
About the Role
In this role, you will take charge of the end-to-end delivery of large-scale civil infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Major bridge construction
- Pump stations and treatment plants
- Complex structural and civil works in regional and remote locations
This position requires a hands-on leadership approach, where your technical expertise, commercial acumen, and ability to manage diverse stakeholders will be essential for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project delivery from planning through to completion
- Manage programmes, budgets, risk, and commercial outcomes
- Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and consultants
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Build strong relationships with clients, councils, and key stakeholders
- Mentor and develop project and site teams
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates with:
- A strong background in large, complex structural works, preferably in bridge construction
- Proven experience managing projects of significant scale and complexity
- Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial skills
- The ability to work effectively in regional and remote locations
- Relevant civil engineering or construction qualifications
