We are currently seeking a qualified Metal Fabricator Welder to join our expanding team in the Auckland region.
About the Role
As a Metal Fabricator Welder, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and repair of metal structures and products. Your responsibilities will include marking, cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling various metal materials. Due to the nature of our projects, you may be required to work in various locations throughout the country, so we are looking for candidates who are flexible and willing to travel.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Fabricating, installing, and repairing metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, as well as beams and girders for construction projects.
- Preparing metal for fabrication by reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
- Setting up metalwork machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
- Welding metal pieces together using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing cutting work.
- Fabricating and constructing metal components.
- Grinding and finishing completed products.
- Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring all welds, joints, and parts meet quality standards, and making any necessary adjustments.
- Adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic.
- Flexibility to work in various locations across the country.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices on-site.
- Reliability and a hardworking attitude.
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay range of $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on your experience. You are guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours of work each week.
Location
This role may require you to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including regions such as Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
