About the Role
We are currently seeking an Assistant Production Manager for our food preparation facility in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our manufacturing plant, overseeing production schedules, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will also supervise staff training and performance, manage record-keeping requirements, and assist the Distribution Manager as needed to optimize production and reduce waste.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a clean and hazard-free manufacturing environment at all times
- Implementing cooking and production schedules
- Adhering to batch production procedures
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and HR procedures
- Supervising staff training and performance
- Meeting company and legal record-keeping requirements
- Maximizing company revenues by achieving production targets and minimizing waste
- Assisting the Distribution Manager within the scope of food production as required
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should bring:
- A minimum of one year of experience in food manufacturing
- At least one year of experience supervising a team
- Exceptional food preparation skills
Hours of Work
This position is full-time, with contracted hours ranging from 30 to 40 hours per week. We operate seven days a week and require flexibility for lunch and dinner shifts, including public holidays. Weekend availability is preferred but can be negotiated.
Benefits
We offer a competitive remuneration package that reflects your qualifications, skills, and experience, with a base hourly rate ranging from $24.00 to $26.00 (gross). You can expect consistent hours throughout the year with guaranteed minimum hours, as well as employee discounts on Café Anatolia meals.
