About the Role
We are seeking Casual Orderlies to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the healthcare industry, providing essential support services that enhance the patient experience, although the care provided is non-medical.
As an Orderly, your responsibilities will include assisting with patient transfers between wards, collecting rubbish and linen to maintain hygiene standards, delivering meals to various wards, and offering these services to other inpatient healthcare settings in the region.
Your interpersonal skills will be vital as you engage with patients, many of whom may be unwell or in distress. Attention to detail is important, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential. Additionally, you should be physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks.
Orderlies operate in all areas of the hospital. Alongside daily tasks, you will assist in transporting patients via wheelchair or bed to various locations such as the theatre, radiology department, and emergency department. You will also listen attentively to patient concerns and relay this information to nursing staff, as well as handle mail and transport non-medical supplies within the hospital.

About You
In your role as an Orderly, you will actively contribute to patient care by supporting hospital operations and maintaining a safe and responsive environment for both patients and staff.
We prefer candidates with previous experience in a hospital or healthcare support setting. You should be physically fit, capable of safely moving patients and equipment, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills. A commitment to providing excellent service in a calm and compassionate manner is essential, along with flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
