About the Role We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Safety Manager to lead our team of food enthusiasts. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring food safety protocols to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in general office and administrative duties, paving the way for broader career development within our company. Key Responsibilities As the Food Safety Manager, your primary responsibilities will include: - Ensuring the store complies with all food safety and compliance regulations. - Maintaining food safety standards to ensure compliance during audits. - Actively promoting food safety practices to all staff members. - Providing training to ensure regulatory compliance across all departments. - Following established procedures for product recalls and addressing customer complaints. - Conducting regular inspections and audits of food preparation, storage, and handling areas. - Training employees on proper food safety practices. - Investigating and documenting food safety incidents, while implementing corrective actions as necessary. - Liaising with regulatory agencies and responding to audits or inspections. - Monitoring product recalls and ensuring appropriate actions are taken when necessary. - Assisting with office-related tasks, including documentation, scheduling, and inventory systems as needed. - Keeping up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes. Requirements To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess: - Previous experience in compliance or quality control, ideally within a supermarket or hospitality environment. - A solid understanding of unit standards 167 and 168 or equivalent. - The ability to implement and maintain food safety procedures effectively. - Strong communication skills with the ability to influence department managers and wider teams. - Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset. - Experience in food safety or quality assurance, preferably in a retail or supermarket setting. - A strong knowledge of food safety regulations. - A willingness to learn and assist with office administration. - Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills. - A detail-oriented and highly organized approach to work.
