About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Cornwall House Community Mental Health Team, based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre. This is a permanent, full-time position (1 FTE) from Monday to Friday, and will include on-call duties on a roster basis. At Cornwall House, we provide a multi-disciplinary and recovery-focused service for adults dealing with serious mental illnesses and severe psychological disorders in south-central Auckland. As a psychiatrist on our team, you will work within both the Care and Recovery team and the Planned Acute Care team, ensuring continuity of care for our whaiora while enjoying a variety of clinical experiences. About the Team/Service/Location The Care and Recovery team is responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessments and a wide range of therapeutic treatment options. We collaborate closely with service users, their whanau, local communities, and the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Community Mental Health Centre (CMHC). The Planned Acute Care team focuses on providing assessment and intervention for whaiora who require acute care within the community. In this role, you will manage your own caseload and offer medical input to the broader multi-disciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include seeing service users at our center, as well as conducting home visits, community visits, and liaising with general practitioners. You will be part of a dedicated team that supports high-quality clinical care while enhancing your own mental health knowledge and clinical skills in a collaborative environment. Requirements Candidates must be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand, holding a current Annual Practising Certificate or be eligible for one. A postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry is preferred. If you are an overseas specialist, you will need to provide source verification of your qualifications for registration.
