About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Butchery 2IC to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that we provide high-quality meats at competitive prices, while also meeting and exceeding our financial targets and key performance measures.
Your primary responsibilities will include creating and delivering remarkable customer experiences that set us apart from our competitors. You will oversee the consistent availability of quality meats, from value packs to store-made sausages and small goods. Additionally, you will develop innovative product strategies that will impress our customers and drive sales.
You will be accountable for exceeding key financial metrics, including CTP, sales, wastage, gross profit, and stocktake accuracy. A vital aspect of this role is fostering a positive work environment for our team, ensuring they remain motivated, engaged, and healthy.

You will be part of one of the largest and most awarded PAK'nSAVE stores, working under the guidance of a supportive owner and store manager. With the potential to contribute significantly to the store's gross profit, there are ample opportunities for personal and professional growth.
You will collaborate with a team of dedicated and experienced butchers, many of whom have over 20 years in the industry. The work schedule is from Tuesday to Saturday, with negotiable start and finish times. Additionally, we offer Southern Cross healthcare benefits.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a butchery leadership role or a demonstrated background as an experienced butcher, with comprehensive knowledge of retail butchery operations.
- A strong record of compliance with food safety and other relevant legislative requirements.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to listen, provide guidance, and develop customer-oriented solutions.
- Strong operational thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in coaching, training, and developing team members, including supporting apprentices.
- Preferred proficiency with the SAP Buyers Workbench in a butchery environment for at least 6 months.
