About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Nurse Educator to join our team in the Health of the Older Person wards 4 and 5 on a fixed-term basis. This position is essential as it supports our commitment to high standards of nursing care and teamwork. The Nurse Educator will work weekdays and will play a pivotal role in leading clinical practice improvements, ensuring safe and competent nursing practices.
In this role, the Nurse Educator will support the implementation of changes within our evolving environment. As an advocate for the organization’s strategic direction and change program, the Nurse Educator will provide interdisciplinary education to facilitate necessary changes.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in educational delivery and will collaborate with the nursing portfolio leader to assess the educational needs within the nursing team. The salary range for this position is aligned with the NZNO collective agreement for Senior Designated Nurses Grade 1, which is NZD 114,025 - NZD 121,444. This role is critical for maintaining essential nursing standards and leading nursing education and skill development.
About the Team/Service/Location
The ORA inpatient service is located on the Kenepuru campus, featuring 24 beds in Ward 4 and 24 beds in Ward 5, dedicated to the health of older persons. Our service provides specialized assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for older adults.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about gerontology and dedicated to caring for vulnerable patient groups. Strong communication skills and resilience are essential. You should hold a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate and have extensive experience in medical and gerontology nursing.
Additional qualifications that will enhance your application include a relevant post-graduate qualification or study, and desirable NZRC qualification/instructor accreditation. A commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients, clients, and whanau is essential.
