About the Company
We are collaborating with a reputable civil construction contractor to find an experienced Project Manager for their expanding Civil Structures team. Located in Gisborne, this role will focus on delivering significant infrastructure projects throughout the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast regions.
This position presents a unique opportunity to take ownership of a major bridge project and other complex, high-value civil works in an area celebrated for its lifestyle, natural beauty, and strong professional community.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of large-scale civil infrastructure projects. Your projects will include:
- Major bridge construction
- Pump stations and treatment plants
- Complex structural and civil works in regional and remote locations
As a hands-on leader, your technical expertise, commercial insight, and ability to manage diverse stakeholders will be vital to your success.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead the full project delivery from planning through to completion. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing programmes, budgets, risks, and commercial outcomes
- Overseeing site teams, subcontractors, and consultants
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Building strong relationships with clients, councils, and key stakeholders
- Mentoring and developing project and site teams
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals with a strong background in large, complex structural works, particularly in bridge construction. Ideal candidates will have:
- Proven experience managing projects of significant scale and complexity
- Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial skills
- The ability to work effectively in regional and remote locations
- Relevant civil engineering or construction qualifications
