About the Role We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Payroll Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the end-to-end payroll process to ensure timely and accurate monthly payroll completion. You will play a critical role in payroll system updates, backend maintenance, process improvements, and policy implementation. Your insights will be key in providing assurance to the senior leadership team regarding payroll compliance with New Zealand legislation. This position is a permanent part-time role (0.6 FTE), making it an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking flexibility in their work. What You Will Do In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Collecting all necessary payroll information in accordance with deadlines. - Ensuring data integrity and accuracy within the payroll system. - Staying informed about New Zealand payroll laws and regulations. - Investigating, addressing, and resolving payroll-related inquiries. - Collaborating with cross-functional and global teams to enhance processes. - Leading detailed reviews of payroll reports with senior management. Requirements We are looking for candidates with established experience as a payroll officer, particularly those who have managed payroll for over 300 employees. A comprehensive understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and experience with various payroll systems is essential. Familiarity with Datapay is a plus, although not mandatory. Strong Excel skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities, will position you as a trusted advisor within our business. Your excellent interpersonal skills will be vital in addressing challenges and working effectively with a range of stakeholders, making you an integral member of our Finance and wider business services team.
