About the Role
We invite you to join our dynamic team at the Air New Zealand Lounge in Palmerston North as a Catering Assistant. This is a permanent full-time position where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality food and beverage services. Your efforts will help ensure that our customers enjoy a memorable and relaxing experience within the lounge.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide proactive and friendly food and beverage service to customers.
- Set up, clean, and maintain lounge areas to create a welcoming environment.
- Prepare and serve beverages, including espresso coffee, in a responsible manner.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items while adhering to food safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with both team members and customers to maintain a high level of service.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Experience in a similar role along with strong communication skills.
- A flexible attitude and a collaborative spirit as a team player.
- Physical fitness and reliability, with a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a catering environment and an NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) are desirable.
