About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Service at Whangarei Hospital in a permanent part-time position, working 28 hours per week. This unique role presents an opportunity to enhance the health outcomes for patients in Northland, particularly in light of recent national funding aimed at expanding access to cancer medicines.
In this role, you will deliver a comprehensive, effective, and safe pharmaceutical service to both patients and staff, with a primary focus on supporting the Cancer and Blood Service in their treatment efforts across Northland.
About the Team/Service/Location
Whangarei Hospital is a medium-sized facility, with approximately 260 beds, situated about two hours north of Auckland. We serve a diverse and high-needs population, and our commitment is to provide patient-centered care while striving for equitable health outcomes through collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Our pharmacy team consists of around 20 skilled pharmacists who deliver clinical pharmacy services across various inpatient areas, including Medicine, Surgery, Older People's Health, Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Children's Health, Mental Health, Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Cancer and Blood Services, and Renal Services.

About You
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold or be eligible for a current Annual Practising Certificate from the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. If you are applying from outside New Zealand, please indicate the applicable registration route and your current progress in that process.
While not mandatory, a postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical area and/or previous hospital pharmacy experience would be highly desirable. We ask that applicants submit a cover letter along with an updated CV when applying.
What We Can Offer You
The remuneration for this position ranges from $82,856 to $116,390 (equivalent to $39.83 to $55.96 per hour) for full-time work, depending on experience, in accordance with the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Collective Agreement.
