About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated individual to support the Store Manager in managing all aspects of store operations and leading our sales team. In this role, you will step in as the acting Store Manager when needed, ensuring that commercial objectives are consistently met.
What You'll Do
In this position, you will demonstrate exceptional selling behaviors, serving as a role model for the sales team to achieve personal key performance indicators. You will work closely with the Store Manager to engage, coach, and develop team members, ensuring that the store meets its sales targets and associated key performance indicators.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the sales floor, employing excellent floor control skills to create a welcoming shopping environment. You will regularly review customer satisfaction insights and identify actions to enhance both the customer experience and store operations.
You will also assist in implementing store operations and visual merchandising principles, ensuring adherence to best practice retail standards. By continually enhancing your product knowledge, you will become a product expert, guiding your team to leverage this expertise to drive sales.
Organizing and prioritizing tasks will be essential to meet business needs while maintaining sales and service standards in-store. Providing regular feedback to motivate and engage the team will be a key aspect of your role. You will support the Store Manager in addressing personnel issues promptly to prevent escalation and will build your capability to manage all aspects of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
What We’re Looking For
We seek a confident, hands-on leader with proven retail management experience and a strong record of achieving targets. You should possess the ability to motivate a team, communicate effectively, and make sound commercial decisions.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant retail experience, including a management role with team leadership.
- Strong coaching skills and effective communication abilities to clarify expectations for individuals and the team.
- The capability to inspire and motivate a store team, injecting pride, passion, and energy to foster a positive working environment.
- Proficiency in supporting people processes and team development.
- Experience in delivering and exceeding sales targets.
- Proactive organizational skills to complete tasks independently and without direction.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Proficiency in IT and the ability to utilize various systems for managing in-store activities.
- Good knowledge of visual merchandising practices.
