About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Gastroenterologist to join our team at Whangarei Hospital. Our current team of four supportive gastroenterologists is looking for an additional member who can contribute general gastrointestinal care, basic ERCP, and EUS skills. This role is crucial in addressing the needs of our growing population in the beautiful Northland region of New Zealand. Our advanced therapeutic endoscopist is ready to hand over the ERCP and EUS caseload to a new, enthusiastic colleague, ensuring a smooth transition. You will benefit from excellent support from our Pathology, Surgery, and Radiology departments.

Whangarei boasts a warm climate and is known as the "winterless north." About You
To qualify for this position, you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in an Internal Medicine Vocational scope of practice. While possessing an FRACP or an equivalent qualification is ideal, we also welcome applications from advanced trainees who are nearing the completion of their training. We are particularly interested in candidates with skills in general GI, basic ERCP, and GI luminal stenting.
