About the Role
We are seeking skilled Welder/Fabricators to join our team in Otago. This position is ideal for individuals who are comfortable working with a variety of welding methods and engaged in both light and heavy fabrication work. We are particularly interested in candidates proficient in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding, as well as those familiar with various metals, including stainless steel.
In this role, you will tackle a wide range of welding and fabrication projects throughout Otago. You will be part of an organization that values skill diversity and promotes professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks across a variety of projects and materials
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Utilize a range of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and ARC
- Prepare and work with various metal stocks for fabrication
- Conduct both light and heavy fabrication work, including shaping, bending, and assembly
- Work with structural and non-structural metals such as stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum
- Examine and finish welds to ensure they meet high-quality standards
- Join components through welding, bolting, or riveting as required
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience
- Confidence in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC) and material types
- Experience in both light and heavy fabrication
- Familiarity with stainless steel work is a plus
- Trade qualifications are preferred, although strong practical experience will be considered
- Own tools and reliable transportation are required
- Two professional work references
- A solid commitment to health and safety practices
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
