We are BDO Southern Lakes & Central Otago, an expanding team with four branches dedicated to serving our community and growing with purpose. We are looking to create a new role for a People & Culture Manager who will lead our people strategy, foster a thriving workplace culture, and support our leaders and teams in achieving their best work.
About the Role
As the People & Culture Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our human resources function. This includes recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance development. You will play a key role in building a values-driven, high-performing culture across our teams.
Your responsibilities will also involve partnering with leaders on various people-related matters, enhancing leadership capabilities, and promoting staff wellbeing. You will identify opportunities to improve our systems and processes, ultimately enhancing the overall employee experience.
Additionally, you will report on progress and insights through people reporting, updates, and meaningful conversations. Being visible and approachable across all branches is essential, as you will build strong relationships with team members.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in HR or people leadership, ideally within a multi-site or professional services context. We are looking for someone with a hands-on, practical approach who can effectively follow through on initiatives.
A strong understanding of recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, and workplace culture is essential. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach others.
