Central to our operations is a dedication to security and safety, which is paramount to our success. About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in protecting our people, facilities, infrastructure, and the innovative technologies that are shaping the future of aerospace. You do not need to have a background in security, as we believe in training motivated individuals to excel as team members. What we do seek is someone who enjoys staying active, brings a positive attitude, and is comfortable with technology and engaging with new people. While security will be your primary focus, we value versatility and self-management, and we encourage you to take initiative in various tasks. What You Will Get to Do - Ensure the security of Rocket Lab's assets in New Zealand, including personnel, property, and infrastructure. - Monitor and respond to CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems. - Patrol secure facilities and control access to restricted areas. - Issue and manage staff identification, visitor passes, access fobs, and secure device protocols. - Assist with emergency response, safety protocols, and incident reporting. - Maintain and apply Standard Operating Procedures with accuracy and professionalism. - Rotate through monitoring, patrolling, escorting, and emergency readiness tasks. Rotating Shift Schedule - Morning Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM - Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM - Overnight Shift: 10:30 PM - 6:00 AM Please note that occasional weekend shifts may be required to support upcoming launches. These shifts will be scheduled on an ad hoc basis with advance notice provided. You Will Bring These Qualifications - Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with conflict resolution skills. - Comfort and confidence using digital tools, including Microsoft Suite and web applications. - Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in English. - A full, clean New Zealand driver’s license. These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have - Experience in incident management or security investigations. - Familiarity with access control and CCTV systems (such as Gallagher or Milestone). - Knowledge of the Privacy Act 2020.
