About the Role We are currently seeking Assistant Bakers/Production Operators to join our Quality Bakers Auckland site. Our commitment to the quality of our baked goods is paramount, and you will play a vital role in our manufacturing team, ensuring each batch is produced with the utmost consistency. In this position, you will report to the Team Leader and be responsible for preparing ingredients, baking, and packaging bread and small goods products to meet our high standards. The available shift pattern is from Sunday to Thursday, starting at 6 PM for the night shift. The pay rate begins at $26.06 per hour, plus a night shift allowance. Key Accountabilities In this role, you will be accountable for the following: - Understanding the ingredients used in the baking process to make necessary adjustments to batches, ensuring quality and consistency. - Learning to master the entire production line, enhancing the transition from good to great products. - Contributing to the essential food services industry by producing key products for your community. - Participating in the development and mentoring of others pursuing baking qualifications. - Actively contributing to the team environment by sharing knowledge and collaborating to enhance team performance. - Adhering to food safety procedures and company policies. - Ensuring machines operate efficiently and without interruption. - Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. About You To be successful in this role, you will need: - Experience in plant baking using automated equipment (preferred). - Manufacturing or machine operation experience. - Strong numerical and literacy skills. - Health and safety certifications (preferred). - Food safety and quality certifications (preferred). - A solid understanding of work health and safety, demonstrated through prior experience. - A passion for bread and baking, coupled with a willingness to continually learn and develop. - The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. - A positive work attitude and a professional demeanor.
