About the Role
We are seeking an Inwards Goods Forklift Driver to join our warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring that all incoming stock is received, processed, and stored accurately. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods using a forklift within the inwards goods area.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to unload incoming deliveries from trucks and containers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation, documenting any discrepancies or damages.
- Inspect incoming stock for quality and condition.
- Accurately record incoming goods into our inventory system, whether manual or using RF scanning technology.
- Transport and store goods in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Maintain an organized and tidy inwards goods area.
- Conduct pre-start checks and perform basic maintenance on the forklift.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with drivers, dispatch staff, and other team members.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid Forklift Operator Certificate, including a current OSH Certificate and F (Forklift) endorsement.
- Proven experience operating a forklift, particularly in an inwards goods or warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with receiving procedures and documentation is highly regarded.
- Basic computer literacy or experience with RF scanning is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from work.
- Physical fitness to manage some manual handling tasks.
