About the Role
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join our in-house Truck Workshop team located in Christchurch. This position is for the evening shift, requiring 45 hours of work per week from Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, and Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
If you have always wanted to gain experience or further develop your skills in working with diesel trucks, this role is perfect for you. As a Trades Assistant, you will work closely with qualified Tradespeople and team leaders, assisting in all aspects of repair and rectification on defective vehicles and equipment.
Your responsibilities will include assisting in fault and maintenance diagnostic activities, testing vehicles and equipment, and ensuring that all tools and equipment used in your work are safe and properly stored. You will also participate in preventative maintenance servicing of our fleet.
Requirements
We are looking for an individual with relevant work experience in a similar role. You should be confident and capable of managing multiple tasks while interacting with both internal and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
Self-motivation and a keen attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. While it is not mandatory, holding a Class 2 or Class 4 truck license is desirable.
