About the Role
In the role of Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our site operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will engage with all electrical and instrumentation systems, ranging from high voltage/low voltage distribution to automation and control. Your focus will be on driving improvements that minimize downtime, enhance productivity, and ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will support and upskill operators and maintenance teams, contributing to our strong commitment to a zero-incident safety culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of electrical and instrumentation systems
- Supporting and supervising high voltage/low voltage maintenance, ensuring full compliance
- Leading electrical projects from planning to completion while managing contractors and consultants
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation, CAD drawings, and service standards
- Identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency and sustainability
- Training, coaching, and supporting site personnel to build capability and enhance safety awareness
About You
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer who possesses strong technical capabilities and is dedicated to maintaining safe and reliable operations. You should enjoy improving systems, solving complex problems, and working efficiently in a dynamic industrial environment.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical), industrial site experience, and professional engineering membership
- Strong skills in electrical design, installation, maintenance, high voltage systems, and automation/control
- Solid knowledge of electrical safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to coach, collaborate, and influence others
- Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry and proficiency in AutoCAD (this is advantageous but not essential)
