About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for guiding and transporting visitors using coaches, buses, and 4-wheel drive vehicles. You will lead informative and enjoyable excursions in and around the Hooker and Tasman Valleys, facilitating transportation between our hotel and various activity sites, including stargazing, treks, and shuttles to the Mt Cook airport.
As a Driver, you will often be the first and last point of contact for our guests, making it essential to build rapport quickly and provide a warm, welcoming experience.
What You Will Be Doing
- Collaborating with our activities team to create exceptional experiences for visitors.
- Demonstrating extensive knowledge of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park.
- Conducting daily check-ins for guests departing on tours to ensure timely departures.
- Maintaining vehicles in a clean and tidy condition for the enjoyment of all guests.
- Leading guided off-road (4WD) tours through surrounding valleys and points of interest.
- Delivering safe and professional service, with additional safety checks in adverse weather conditions.
- Ensuring compliance with all Land Transport New Zealand (LTNZ) rules and regulations.
- Understanding and adhering to Health & Safety protocols, including accident reporting procedures and emergency procedures.
What You Will Bring to the Role
- A full, clean New Zealand driver's license and proven driving experience.
- Class 2/4 and P endorsement are essential.
- Strong public speaking and communication skills, with the ability to manage groups effectively.
- A passion for the outdoors, an outgoing personality, and a good level of fitness.
- Proactive timekeeping skills.
- A strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and reliability.
The Role and Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight, with an hourly wage ranging from $28.00 to $30.00.
