    Occupational Therapy Rotational Position Location: Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth Service: Occupational Therapy Rotational Position Contract: Permanent, 1.0 FTE (80 hours per fortnight) Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is guided by the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to developing a health system that serves all New Zealanders effectively. Our team consists of approximately 350 allied health professionals, and we are excited to expand our inpatient physical health rehabilitation team by 60%. About the Role We are offering an Occupational Therapist rotational programme that includes rotations lasting between six to nine months. The programme encompasses the following areas: - Inpatients: Gain experience in three key areas within acute wards, which include medical, orthopaedic, surgical, ICU, and rehabilitation settings. - Community Rotation: Work with the community teams in either the North or South, assisting clients in their homes while addressing the challenges they face. This experience will enhance your knowledge in community rehabilitation, equipment, and housing modifications. - ART/ARTHA: Join an interdisciplinary Allied Health team that includes physiotherapists and social workers. This role involves providing treatment and interventions in the emergency department, Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), in collaboration with St Johns, and in community settings. Requirements To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following essential criteria: - Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate registration - Current New Zealand driver's license - A commitment to translating evidence into practice - A dedication to biculturalism - A focus on achieving equitable outcomes for Māori - An understanding of healthcare in New Zealand - Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook Desired qualifications include: - Experience in the clinical areas mentioned above - Knowledge of standardized assessment and outcome measures - Familiarity with ACC and MOH health funding streams - Strong time management and delegation skills - Ability to facilitate teamwork You will also be expected to: - Work effectively as a team member - Show evidence of ongoing professional learning - Understand the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to meaningfully apply its principles in your role How to Apply To apply, please click the apply now button to submit your application directly to us.
