About the Role We are currently seeking experienced Fitter-Welders with strong fabrication skills to join our growing team based in the Waikato region. This is an excellent opportunity to secure stable employment with competitive pay ranging from $30 to $35 per hour, along with favorable working conditions and a variety of projects. Some positions may involve shift work, and we will discuss all details with shortlisted candidates. In this role, you will engage in large-scale fabrication and installation projects, offering a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same. Your tasks will include fabricating custom components, assembling, and welding structural steel and machinery. Key responsibilities include: - Heavy fabrication and structural welding to specifications - Reading and interpreting detailed fabrication drawings - Performing MIG and stick welding (TIG welding experience is a bonus) - Utilizing cutting, grinding, and forming tools - Fitting, tacking, and assembling large steel components - Conducting site installation work as required - Upholding high standards of health and safety Requirements Our ideal candidate will possess: - A minimum of three years of experience in heavy fabrication or fitter-welder roles - Strong skills in MIG and stick welding (TIG experience is a plus) - The ability to read and work from engineering drawings - A trade qualification is preferred but not essential - Solid experience with structural steel or industrial machinery - A reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious demeanor - Own tools and transportation - Two recent work references - The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test Benefits We offer a competitive hourly wage of $30 to $35, depending on experience, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
