About the Role
Are you ready to embark on your midwifery career in a dynamic and supportive environment? We are currently inviting applications from motivated Graduate Midwives to join our Maternity Services team. This is a permanent position with negotiable hours to accommodate your needs.
In this role, you will provide compassionate, holistic care to wahine and their whanau throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal journey. You will have access to mentorship and ongoing professional development, allowing you to gain invaluable experience while making a meaningful impact in the lives of families.
What We Can Offer New Graduate Midwives in Hawke's Bay
This is an exciting opportunity for new graduate midwives. Our secondary facility manages around 2,200 births annually, providing a blend of primary and secondary maternity care. The base hospital located in Hastings is complemented by a primary facility in the rural area of Wairoa. Additionally, we are in the process of constructing a new primary maternity facility adjacent to our secondary unit, designed to support active labor, birth, and a whanau-friendly atmosphere for new parents.
As a new graduate midwife, you will have the opportunity to:
- Consolidate your practice in a supportive environment.
- Enroll in and complete the Midwifery 1st Year of Practice program.
- Be released for study and professional development.
- Work across the full midwifery scope of practice.
- Gain valuable experience in secondary and tertiary midwifery practice.
