About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced painters to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects located primarily in the Otago region, with occasional assignments in Southland. What You’ll Be Doing
As an essential member of our team, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Setting up scaffolding, ladders, and protective coverings to ensure surfaces are safeguarded during painting.
- Preparing surfaces by removing old paint, repairing woodwork, filling cracks, and sealing areas as necessary.
- Mixing paints to achieve accurate colors and finishes to meet project specifications.
- Applying paint, varnishes, and stains using brushes, rollers, and spray techniques effectively.
- Hanging wallpaper with precision and ensuring seamless pattern matching.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in painting, along with a relevant trade qualification.
- Reliable transport for commuting to job sites.
- Two verifiable work references to support your application.
- A strong commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- A valid work visa or legal right to work in New Zealand.
- Expertise in surface preparation, color matching, and application techniques.
