About the Role We are looking for a reliable and motivated Metal Fabricator Welder to fill multiple roles throughout the Waikato region. This position may require flexibility in work locations, as you may be asked to travel across the country to assist with our projects. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the marking, cutting, shaping, welding, and assembly of steel and other metal materials. Your work will contribute to the creation and repair of various metal structures and products. Key duties will include: - Fabricating, installing, and repairing metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, as well as beams and girders for construction projects. - Preparing metal materials for fabrication. - Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. - Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines. - Setting up metalworking machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears. - Welding metal pieces using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding. - Double-checking design specifications prior to cutting. - Fabricating and constructing metal components. - Grinding and finishing completed products. - Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and making necessary adjustments. - Adhering to health and safety protocols. - Performing other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Requirements To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria: - A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification. - A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and a solid work ethic. - Flexibility to work in various locations across New Zealand. - A commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry. - A strong adherence to health and safety practices on-site. - Reliability and a hardworking attitude. Location The role may require work in multiple locations across New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland. Benefits This is a permanent and full-time role, with guaranteed minimum hours of 30 per week. The pay range is from $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.
