About the Role
We are seeking a Cellar Manager to support our Chief Winemaker in overseeing all daily cellar activities, ensuring a smooth transition from fruit to bottle. In this role, you will lead, train, and motivate our dedicated team while driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will also play a key role in cultivating a safe and positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
You will manage all cellar operations with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and safety. This includes leading, training, and motivating cellar staff, as well as overseeing the recruitment and induction of vintage staff.
Ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards will be essential. You will collaborate with our winemaking and engineering teams to maintain equipment and enhance processes.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the winery, fostering an engaged and high-performing team culture, and overseeing inventory, dry goods, and resource planning will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will support the ongoing development of winery processes and participate in audits.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with at least five years of winery experience, including supervisory roles. You should be fully competent in all winery operations and possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong leadership, coaching, and communication abilities are essential, along with a commitment to health, safety, and sustainability. Wine-related or production qualifications will be considered an advantage.
