About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Assistant Store Manager to join our Darfield Rural Supplies team. This position is ideal for someone seeking to take on additional responsibilities and face new challenges in their career. We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and has a genuine interest in the agricultural sector.
As the Assistant Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of our Darfield store, in alignment with our company strategy and values. Your commitment to meeting client needs will be essential, as our focus is on delivering expert technical sales advice and service to a diverse range of agricultural clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth by providing superior technical advice and in-store service.
- Exceed service expectations and promptly address any client queries or concerns.
- Assist the Store Manager with administrative tasks as directed.
- Autonomously manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager, serving as the first point of contact for clients and employees.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect well with both staff and clients.
- Proven sales ability and supervisory experience, along with knowledge of the local rural sector.
- A developed understanding of current dairy, arable, sheep, and beef farming practices.
- Strong computer administration, retail operations, and inventory management skills.
- Outstanding organizational and team-building abilities.
- A passion for working in a competitive environment and a desire to grow market share.
