    Description

About the Company Tradestaff Global is a leading provider in the construction industry, dedicated to connecting skilled professionals with exciting job opportunities. We are currently seeking qualified and licensed plumbers with commercial experience to work at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the upcoming summer season. About the Role The season will run from October 2025 to March 2026, with deployment expected around October. Please note that return dates will be confirmed later. This opportunity is not for the faint-hearted, as you will be residing in one of the most isolated yet stunning locations in the world for several months. We are offering competitive compensation and benefits, including flights from any major airport in New Zealand, food, shared accommodation, and travel insurance. The hourly rate is NZ$66.11, with contracts paid fortnightly for 54 hours a week. All personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. While the work is demanding, it offers the chance to earn a good income, save money, gain invaluable experience, and forge lasting friendships. If this unique opportunity has been on your bucket list, we encourage you to apply. What’s the Job? Working in Antarctica presents distinct challenges, and we are looking for hardworking team players who are willing to pitch in, perform essential tasks, and support one another. You will be engaged in a large commercial construction project, carrying out various aspects of commercial plumbing work, which will include basic plumbing and repetitive tasks. A current New Zealand Plumbing Licence is required for this role. What’s the Catch? Due to travel restrictions, only New Zealand and US citizens with valid New Zealand or US passports who are currently residing and working in New Zealand can apply. Candidates must be willing to receive vaccinations for Flu, Tdap, and MMR. Note that these positions are not 'fly in, fly out' (FIFO); you will be on-site for extended periods, working long hours, six days a week. Start dates are approximate and contingent upon passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, your notice period, and ice flight availability. A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is mandatory. Applicants must hold a Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and have a clean criminal record. The application process can be lengthy, so we appreciate your patience. Additionally, you will need to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams, and we will cover the costs of testing and flights from outside the Bay of Plenty. What Now? To apply, please submit your application online with an up-to-date CV that details your commercial construction skills and experience, including the types of projects you have worked on. If your initial application is successful, we will reach out with further information regarding the interview and verification process. It is essential that you are IT literate, have excellent attention to detail, can follow instructions, and manage complex paperwork effectively. Adventure awaits! Apply online now to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Please note that we only accept online applications, and you will receive an automatic acknowledgment when your application is successfully submitted. We offer a wide variety of roles across the construction industry, including positions for carpenters, machine operators, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, duct installers, pipefitters/welders, and many more.
