Temporary Dangerous Goods Courier Driver

About the Company At New Zealand Couriers, we take pride in our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our fleet in the Airport Oaks Region of Auckland on a fixed-term basis. About the Role This position is a fixed-term role lasting approximately 11 weeks, with work available until Friday, 29th August 2025. We are looking for a candidate who can start immediately and is available to work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., totaling 52.5 hours per week. There is no weekend work required. To be eligible for this role, applicants must hold a current Dangerous Goods endorsement on their driver’s license. You will need reliable transportation to and from East Tamaki, as your workday will begin and end at our Highbrook Branch. Duties will include driving an automatic transmission Toyota Hiace or Ford Transit van, picking up bulk loads of freight from the Airport Oaks region, assisting with delivery duties in the South Auckland area as needed, and handling urgent deliveries and pickup jobs as required. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: - Ability to confidently drive an automatic transmission van - A full, clean driver’s license with a current Dangerous Goods "D" endorsement - Strong communication skills - Geographic knowledge of the South Auckland region and its suburbs - Previous experience in freight handling (not essential) - Capability to manage a diverse range of duties - Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment - Physical fitness, with the ability to perform heavy and repetitive lifting (up to 25 kg) - A reliable, punctual, and honest work ethic Please note that all applicants will be subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug testing. Benefits We offer a competitive pay rate of $28.00 per hour, along with an additional 8% holiday pay, paid weekly. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.
