Recognized for our innovative approach and commitment to environmental sustainability, we foster a supportive and collaborative culture that offers real opportunities for growth and flexibility. About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our expanding team. This hybrid position combines office-based civil design responsibilities with hands-on geotechnical fieldwork, providing a comprehensive professional experience. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will assist with the design of various civil projects, including earthworks, stormwater, wastewater, water supply, roads, and land development. You will prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using 12D and AutoCAD. You will also conduct geotechnical site investigations and soil testing while supporting senior engineers in developing practical and cost-effective solutions. Ensuring compliance with New Zealand standards and local council requirements is crucial. Additionally, you will contribute to project planning, management, and client presentations, while building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. Maintaining quality and safety standards across all project stages will also be part of your responsibilities. What We Offer We provide a diverse mix of local and regional projects that have a meaningful impact. This balanced office and field role offers varied experiences in a friendly and inclusive team that is dedicated to supporting your career growth. We also offer flexible working arrangements to promote a better work-life balance, along with a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, based on New Zealand experience. Professional development and training opportunities are available, and after one year with the company, there is a potential pathway to becoming a shareholder. What You Bring To succeed in this role, you should have proven experience with 12D and AutoCAD for civil design and drafting. A strong understanding of New Zealand engineering regulations and standards is essential, along with experience in geotechnical fieldwork, site inspections, and reporting. You should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, possess excellent communication skills, and have a team-oriented mindset.
