About the Role
We are currently seeking applications for a Clinical Coder at Level 3 or above, with practical experience in ICD10-AM 11th or 12th Edition, to join our Clinical Coding team at Capital Coast and Hutt Valley district.
This position is exclusively for experienced coders. We are not accepting applications from trainees or individuals without coding experience in ICD10-AM 11th or 12th Edition. Candidates with experience in ICD10-CM will also not be considered. For the right candidate, we are open to offering the option to work remotely. The full salary range for this position is $84,121 - $89,491.
About Our Team
As part of our Clinical Coding team, you will process approximately 120,000 inpatient events annually. Our team is dedicated to meeting reporting deadlines while ensuring quality coding. Therefore, it is essential that applicants have a demonstrated history of teamwork, initiative, and accuracy. About You
The essential qualifications and skills for this role include:
- Previous experience coding in ICD10-AM 11th or 12th Edition
- A minimum of 3 years of practical coding experience
- Proven ability to code independently and unsupervised
- HIMAA or equivalent qualification in clinical coding, preferably at the Intermediate level or above
- HIMAA or equivalent qualification in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Intermediate or Advanced level ICD10-AM 11th Edition, ACHI, and ACS Clinical Coding (HIMAA) qualification or equivalent
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and reliability
- A proactive team player who demonstrates initiative
