About the Role
We are looking for an energetic physiotherapist to join our dynamic team in acute and rehabilitation inpatient services. This full-time, permanent position involves rotating through various departments, including Medical, Surgical, Rehabilitation (including outpatient rehabilitation), Emergency Department, Acute Care Unit, Paediatrics, and Maternity wards. Additionally, you will participate in the on-call weekend roster.
In this role, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for a diverse range of patients, including those with orthopaedic, neurological, and general medical conditions. Our primary goal is to enable patients to thrive in their own environments by supporting a seamless transition from inpatient care to community settings.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Acute Physiotherapy service is part of the Te Koru Rehabilitation Department, which includes a variety of allied health professionals such as rehabilitation specialists, speech-language therapists, podiatrists, occupational therapists, dietitians, community therapists, outpatient physiotherapists, pelvic health therapists, and hand therapists. We offer a friendly and supportive team environment.
Whakatane is a beautiful location with plenty of sunshine and outdoor activities. The hospital is conveniently situated just five minutes from scenic river and bush walks, and a short 15-minute drive from stunning beaches. Your workday can be customized between 7 am and 5 pm, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty of the area before and after work.
Known for having some of the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand, Whakatane boasts award-winning beaches perfect for surfing and recreation. Enjoy the serene sounds of native birds in our bush-clad walkways and swim in some of the cleanest freshwater lakes in the region. About You
We are seeking a candidate with New Zealand Registration and a current Annual Practicing Certificate from the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand.
