About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on leader to oversee maintenance operations for our Times & Materials and Northern & Southern Motorway teams under the Christchurch City Council Road Landscapes Contract. In this key role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating plant, materials, and workforce scheduling to ensure projects remain on budget and compliant.
You will mentor and train your team, ensuring high performance while promoting Health & Safety excellence and adhering to all Citycare Property policies. Your emphasis on efficiency, relationship building, and smart asset management will help us achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), meet monthly targets, and deliver outstanding results for the community.
Requirements
- Horticulture Level 4 qualification (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a small team
- Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and communicate effectively with others
- A reliable and positive mindset, committed to delivering high-quality work
- A passion for horticulture and dedication to achieving exceptional results
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety, fostering an inclusive and compliant workplace culture
- Excellent work ethic combined with outstanding communication skills
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and managing maintenance operations for motorway and road landscape teams
- Planning and scheduling plant, materials, and staffing to meet budget and timelines
- Supervising, training, and developing staff to maintain high performance standards
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and Citycare Property policies
- Driving efficiency and asset management to meet KPIs and monthly targets
