About the Role We are currently seeking a Healthcare Security Officer to join our team at Dunedin and Wakari Hospitals. In this permanent, full-time position, you will work a variety of shifts, including mornings from 7:00 AM to 3:35 PM, afternoons from 3:00 PM to 11:35 PM, and nights from 11:00 PM to 7:35 AM, following a 4-on, 2-off roster pattern. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors. Each shift will present unique challenges, requiring you to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate compassion and empathy in difficult situations. While previous security experience is preferred, we are open to training the right candidate, leading to nationally recognized security qualifications. Your key responsibilities will include: - Conducting routine patrols - Writing reports - Performing welfare checks - Diffusing tense situations before they escalate - Ensuring the overall security of our people and facilities About You We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualities: - A peacemaker mentality - Strong communication skills - A kind and helpful demeanor while remaining firm and alert - Experience working with diverse populations - A non-judgmental approach - A good level of physical fitness In return, you will receive excellent training, nationally recognized security qualifications, and the opportunity to work with a friendly, supportive, and committed team.
