About the Role
We are currently looking for an HR Business Partner for a full-time, fixed-term role lasting six months, based in Invercargill and Dunedin. This position will focus on applying HR functional expertise within our organization. The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in transforming the Health New Zealand Southern requirements into integrated people solutions across various HR domains, ultimately enhancing the performance of the Department, Directorate, and Team.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Managing talent flow by developing team members and leaders, enhancing individual performance, and building technical expertise.
- Establishing strong working relationships based on trust through a proactive approach.
- Overseeing employee wellbeing through both financial and non-financial rewards.
- Analyzing external market factors that may impact our organization.
- Managing organizational tensions and ensuring safe staffing levels in alignment with operational needs.
- Effectively navigating changes in team structures to promote efficient work practices and balanced workloads.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and government laws.
- Educating employees and managers on maintaining legal standards regarding workplace behavior.
About the Team/Service/Location
Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all New Zealand regions, serving approximately 350,000 people across diverse communities. About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least eight years of broad HR generalist experience, preferably at the business partner or senior advisor level. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong technical HR knowledge, particularly within the New Zealand employment relations context.
We seek someone who can lead challenging or sensitive performance and change management processes, negotiate and resolve employee issues effectively, and build constructive relationships, especially with unions. A natural skill in communication and the ability to think critically and challenge assumptions are essential traits for this role.
